An Angel Never Dies

Don't let them say I wasn't born,

That something stopped my heart

I felt each tender squeeze you gave,

I've loved you from start.

Although my body you can't hold,

It doesn't mean I'm gone,

This world was worthy not of me,

God chose that I move on.

I know the pain that drowns your soul,

What you are forced to face.

You have my word, I'll fill your arms,

Someday we will embrace.

You'll hear that it was "meant to be

God doesn't make mistakes,"

But that won't soften your worst blow,

Or make your heart not ache.

I'm watching over all you do,

Another child you'll bear,

Believe me when I say to you,

That I am always there.

There will come a time, I promise you

When you will hold my hand,

Stroke my face and kiss my lips,

And you'll understand.

Although I've never breathed your air,

Or gazed into your eyes

That doesn't mean I never "was"

An angel never dies.

Our Angel Baby

You never called us Mommy or Daddy,

but we know that's who we are.

You arrived much too early, much too small;

our hearts are heavy, our arms are empty.

Yet you touched our hearts,

in ways only an angel can.

We love you dearly,

and look to the day we're together again.

Comes The Dawn

After a while you learn the subtle difference

Between holding a hand and chaining a soul,

And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning

And company doesn't mean security,

And you begin to understand

that kisses aren't contracts

And presents aren't promises,

And you begin to accept your defeats

With your head up and your eyes open,

And you lean to build all your roads

On today because tomorrow's ground

Is too uncertain for plans, and futures have

A way of falling down in mid-flight.

After a while you learn that even sunshine

Burns if you get too much,

So plant your own garden and decorate

Your own soul, instead of waiting

For someone to bring you flowers.

And learn that you really can endure,

That you really are strong

And you really do have worth

And you learn and learn . . .

With every good-bye you learn.

Thank you for the gift of you.

You gave us hope by just being you.

After the hurting and healing are through

we'll treasure most of all, the gift of you.

  To us you will exist

 in the flowers
in the trees
and all things of nature God has given us.
You are now in a world of peace and
happiness forever.
Pray for us as we pray for you,
and somewhere sometime
we will join.

What Makes A Dad

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The clam of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it....Dad

A Man in Grief

It must be difficult
To be a man in grief,
Since "men don't cry" and "men are strong"
No tears can bring relief.

It must be very difficult
To stand up to the test
And field calls and visitors
So she can get some rest.

They always ask if she's doing all right
And what she's going through,
But seldom take his hand and ask,
"My friend, but how are you?".
He hears her crying in the night
and thinks his heart will break.
He dries her tears and comforts her,
But stays strong for her sake.

It must be very difficult
To start each day anew
And try to be brave~
He lost his baby too.

Lord, today I sent my baby to you
Please give him wings and let him fly
He's new at this so take it slow
Teach him how they flutter by

I'll miss him so though we'd never met
And I'll never know his smile
But you need him and now he's yours
He was only mine a while

He'll never know pain
And he'll never know fear
For I know that you will keep him near

And now . . .
I close my eyes to say good bye

And watch him fly away to you
Please keep him Lord, and love him 'till
I get my wings and join you too.

Dear Mommy and Daddy,

 I did not die young.
I lived my span of life,
Within your body
And within your love.
There are many
Who have lived long lives
And who have not been loved as me.
If you would honour me
Then speak my name
And number me among your family.
If you would honor me
Then strive to live in love
For in that love, I live.
Never, ever doubt
That we will meet again.
Until that happy day,
I will grow with God
And wait for you.

Please
by Rita Moran

PLEASE, don't ask me if I'm over it yet.
I'll never be over it.
PLEASE, don't tell me she's in a better place.
She isn't here with me.
PLEASE, dont say at least she isn't suffering.
I haven't come to terms with why she had to suffer at all.
PLEASE, don't tell me you know how I feel,
Unless you have lost a child.
PLEASE, dont ask me if I feel better.
Bereavement isn't a condition that clears up.
PLEASE, don't tell me at least you had her for so many years.
What year would you choose for your child to die?
PLEASE, dont tell me God never gives us more than we can bear.
PLEASE, just say you are sorry.
PLEASE, just say you remember my child, if you do.
PLEASE, just let me talk about my child.
PLEASE, mention my childs name.
PLEASE, just let me cry.

Star Light, Star Bright

There is an extra star in heaven tonight.
It was God's choice, not mine.
I wanted to carry you.
I wanted to give birth to you.
I wanted to hold you.
But it was not meant to be.
There is an extra star in heaven tonight.
The soul of a child is especially bright.
I wanted to nurse you.
I wanted to clothe you.
I wanted to protect you.
But it was not meant to be.
All I can do is love you.
And look up to the heavens
And remember.......

I placed flowers at your gravesite.
I hope you knew I was there.
I thought I felt you in the breeze,
Now I feel you everywhere.
I've seen you in a picture,
And I saw my image in your face.
I wish I could touch your hand,
But you're in a different place.
I know the day will come in time,
I'll find the final piece.
On that day when our souls meet
My journey will be complete

Heart to Hand

"Father's Day" what a day to remember
the journey of Fatherhood has many obstacles
that some dare to walk, but some have no choice.

What makes a father, a Father?
Taking time to make time
to walk hand and hand in the park
to get up in the middle of the night
because he's afraid of the dark
to hold his hand when he reaches out
to never scream or shout.

Is this what being a father is all about?
Some may say but it a real father
who can withstand  a loss that was a part of himself
and still stand strong when grief comes so unexpectedly
who can fight pain and suffering
with the knowledge of knowing he's still a father
because he has endured the greatest strength
of knowing he can walk "hand in hand" in the park
and smiles as he places his strong hand over his heart.

This is where we start.

Hope...Time...Love...Healing...

Tomorrow will come. The pain will ease,
But you will never forget your precious child.
It takes hope, time, and love for the healing to take place.
Remember along the way to accept, but never forget.

Love lives longer than grief or pain...
All other things pass, but love will remain.
A bond that nothing can sever,
Because love lasts forever.

Our hearts are broken. Our world seems like it has ended.
Our dreams, our hopes, and our future with this child are over.
Our precious child has died.

God sends his little angels, in many forms and guises,
They come as lovely miracles, that God alone devises.

What we have once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose.
For all that we love deeply becomes a part of us.

Helen Keller

Some People Only Dream of Angels,

We Held One In Our Arms

A families love is not measured in days

Some tell me you are to painful to remember.

I tell them you are to precious to forget.

There is no greater love than a mother for her child, there is no greater pain than a mother who has lost her child.

Life can be the same after a trinket is lost . . . but never a treasure

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.  Matthew 6:21

Just because one heart stops beating, doesn't mean another heart stops loving

Parents hearts are always with their children ...

There is a link death cannot severe,

 love and remembrance last forever

Touched for a moment by your presence, Remembering you foever, in our hearts

Budded on earth to bloom in Heaven

Sometimes the tiniest feet leave the biggest imprint on our hearts

If I had a single rose for every time I thought of you, I could walk forever through my garden.

Loving you is easy,

We do it everyday,

Missing you is a heartache,

That never goes away

Memory is a lovely lane,

Where hearts are ever true,

A lane I so often travel down,

Because it leads to you.

It's hard to say good-bye before you even had a chance to say hello

Too beautiful for this world

Sometimes our lives are so blessed by people who are so special that we are better just to have known them.

We mention your name

And speak of you often

God Bless you my child

You are not forgotten

We think of you in silence,

We often speak your name,

But all we have are memories,

And your picture in a frame.

Your resting place we visit,

And put flowers there with care,

But no one knows the heartache,

As we turn to leave you there.

Those we love don't go away,

They walk beside us every day.

Unseen, unheard, but always near,

Still loved, still missed, and very dear.

Talking about someone may not bring them back . . .

But silence does not change the fact that they are gone.

May your memories comfort you.

May love be what you remember most.

Some people come into our lives and stay in our hearts forever.

Perhaps they are not stars,

But rather openings in Heaven,

Where the love of our lost one's

Pours down through

and shines upon us

To let us know they are happy.

~Inspired by Eskimo Legend

Some people come into our lives

and quickly go.

Some stay for awhile,

leave footprints on our hearts,

and we are never,

ever the same.

A million time I have needed you,

A million times I have cried.

If love alone could have saved you,

You would have never died.

In life I loved you dearly,

In death I love you still.

In my heart you hold a special place,

That none will ever fill.

I could hold you in my hand, now I hold you in my heart.
