Healing Hearts of Indiana is a 501 (c) 3 non profit organization funded by memorial donations and dedicated to helping parents who have lost a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant death. Through this organization we offer friendship and understanding. We want to encourage you to share your thoughts, feelings, ideas, poems, pictures, and stories with us. We hope that here you will find the strength and courage through sharing our stories of loss that you will begin to heal, grow and rebuild your lives. Remember you are not alone. Our Mission Healing Hearts is committed to providing love and hope during those times when it seems that you can't go on and that no one can understand what you are going through. We have been through it and lived to tell about and now wish to share our experience with you and to try and help you through these trying times. We are in constant search of new friends and, in response to you're suggestions, will continually endeavor to find new ways to help others out in their time of need.
Melissa Barrett, started this non profit organization in 2001 after many years of helping other people who had lost a child. She wanted others to know that she understood what they were going through because she had been there herself. She had spilt many tears in the name of her son and like many others wondered how she could go on. Melissa and her husband Mark, lost their son, Noah Zachary Barrett, after only 2 days of life to Group B Strep. This was not Mark & Melissa's first loss, they had also lost two other babies whose lives ended before they began due to miscarriage, one prior to Noah and one after. It was after the loss of Noah that Melissa decided she wanted to use her pain and more importantly, her love and understanding, to help out others who are trying to deal with their loss of a loved one. Noah was only on this Earth for 2 days, but during those 2 days he touched his mother and father in such a tremendous way that they wanted to be able to share little Noah's story and their hope and love with others.
